Cárdenas Statement on Anniversary of Obergefell v. Hodges

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Tony Cárdenas (CA-29) released the following statement on the fifth anniversary of the historic Obergefell v. Hodges Supreme Court decision:

"Five years ago today, the Supreme Court ruled that marriage equality is the law of the land. As we celebrate this historic moment in our nation's history, we must also recognize that there is still much to do.

"Our journey towards a more perfect union is not over so long as discrimination and intolerance exist in America. So on this day, let us renew our commitment to speaking out against hate and bigotry. Let us continue fighting for equal justice for everyone. Let us lead with love."
