Cárdenas Statement on Committee Assignments for the 117th Congress

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the House of Representatives Energy and Commerce Committee held its biennial organizational meeting during which Congressman Tony Cárdenas (CA-29) was assigned to the Subcommittees on Health, Communications and Technology, and Consumer Protection.  Cárdenas releases the following statement:

“I am honored to continue serving on the Energy and Commerce Committee to work on issues that are most important to families in the San Fernando Valley and across the United States.  On the Health Subcommittee, I will continue working with my colleagues to help end this pandemic that has devastated communities across America and expand access to the best healthcare.  On the Communications and Technology Subcommittee, I will continue working to expand broadband access and close the digital divide – which is more important now than ever to ensure students get the best education. On the Consumer Protection and Commerce Subcommittee, I will continue looking out for the safety of American families and protect consumers from bad actors. Now that we have an ally in the White House and control of both chambers of Congress, Democrats can put forth and pass a legislative agenda to address the major problems we face including ending the COVID pandemic and rebuilding our country stronger than ever before.”
