Rep. Cárdenas on Senate Passage of FDA User Fee Reauthorization

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Tony Cárdenas (D-CA) released the following statement regarding the overwhelming Senate passage of the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) User Fee Reauthorization.

“The passage of this legislation proves that working in a bipartisan way on healthcare is possible. Both chambers of Congress worked together on this critical bill through regular order.

The certainty that the User Fee program reauthorization provides the FDA encourages our health sector to continue to invest in innovative therapies that can treat the currently untreatable, cure the currently incurable and ultimately change the human condition for the better. I was proud to participate in the drafting and passage of this legislation through my work on the Energy and Commerce Committee and, and I hope President Trump will sign this legislation immediately.”
